Two students, Ugyen and Nima, Class VII and VIII students of Bidung Lower Secondary School passed away within a day of each other. It was a most unfortunate coincidence of death. There is neither an epidemic nor other contagious infection going on. The principal, teachers, staff and students were deeply saddened. In order to provide moral support to the young children, I visited and talked to them yesterday, led them in offering 1000 butter lights, sat together through a prayer conducted by the students and shared some jokes to lighten their mood. My constituency visit thus far took me to Yangnyer, Bartsham and Bidung Gewog thus far. I will be in parts of Bidung and Phongme gewogs today. Most people are busy with paddy and corn harvest. The issues they continue to raise relate to human-wildlife conflict, farm roads, sokshing and tsamdro, rural transport etc.
