Two things: Could someone post a picture of a jar of tar sands oil sampled in the streets of Mayflower at the time of the spill so we know we still have it for further analysis when needed? Also, now is the time to collect a water sample from a hole dug in the back yard of one of the residents. We know that Benzene evaporates from exposed oil. However, if you uncover a fresh sample of tar sands oil from about a foot down, it should still have benzene in it. The EPA water quality criteria standard for human and organism is 2.2 parts per billion. Anyone want to bet that the groundwater samples still exceed that level in the vicinity of the spill.
