Two things...first, I dont support the feminist movement in its modern day iteration. It is a misguided, over-the-top effort of political correctness run amok. And similar to Sharpton and Jackson, the leaders are largely financially motivated (Ive heard their efforts referred to as the grievance industry). Second, as a Christian, I do believe in the dignity of human life and the inherent value to each individual....I believe this because I believe that God came to earth and died for people...for individuals regardless of the identity group(s) they belong to. If human life had that much value to the Creator of the Universe, then I believe I should value it greatly. If a person supports rap music as a genre, and listens to Beyoncé and other performers who parade around like Usamaa Babar describes in her rap, they need to consider what they believe.....truly. A huge portion of this music objectifies and degrades not only women, but also the men who seemingly cant control themselves, and feel that violence is their right. Then take that mindset, and look at how many religions view and treat women....see any parallels? Sorry for the Saturday morning rant....it had been on my heart.
