Two things were told never to talk about, Im going to today (probably against my better judgement) religion & politics. If faith is an important part of your life, just remember when you go to the polls this Tuesday, November 4, Jesus Christ talked and shared his message about helping the poor, disenfranchised, outcasts, and sick of our society, more than he spoke about anything else. Politicians often talk about the hot button issues that get us riled up, arguing, and even hating one another. Yet Jesus never spoke about most of these issues, not even once. Yet in The Bible, there are over 300 passages focused on helping the poor, & social justice. Most of these passages are found in The New Testament and a large number of them are direct quotes from Jesus. There are so many passages dealing with helping the least among us but these are some of the most powerful for me.....Mark 10:21-22, Luke 3:10-11, 11:39-42, 12:33-34, 14:12-14, John 5:12, Matthew 5:16, 5:42, 10:5, and of course Matthew 25:34-40 Really take the time to look at the candidates who are running and that have a platform that focuses on helping the poor, children, the sick, the disenfranchised, the forgotten. And Jesus said, Whatever you do for the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you do unto me.
