Two to Tango I traveled to South Korea and China early this - TopicsExpress

Two to Tango I traveled to South Korea and China early this month. All things went OK until my final day. I checked out a hotel in Urumqi with a big surprise. The hotel knew it was my birthday, so they gave me seven macaroons in a fancy box. I am sure to come back to the hotel on my future visit to the city. My happy story ended suddenly at the departure lobby of Urumqi airport. Many passengers, all seemed to be Chinese, flocked to an Air China counter. Soon I learned my flight to Beijing was cancelled. They were just shouting and complaining loudly without making a line. What is worse was there was only one Air China official who handled this matter. I have no idea why Chinese cannot understand such chaotic behaviors do not solve a problem efficiently. I was forced to go to so many counters to change my flight and arrange a Beijing hotel that Air China would provide. No explanation for the cancellation, no apology for the cancellation… Such unruly society and people just made me so exhausted. But I understand that is a reality of a member of the UNSC and so-called the world second largest economy. While in China, Asiana flight 214 crash at San Francisco hit headlines. The accident of the Boeing 777, which had no fatality accident record since its first flight in the mid-1990s, left three dead and many injured. I admit Asiana has been enjoying high reputation for its warm hospitality and high quality service among frequent fliers. But both Asiana and the Korean authorities’ – or I can say the Korean government- words and deeds after the accident are just unbelievable. See the following, they are far below global standard and common sense. An anchorperson of a Korean TV station said it was fortunate that victims were Chinese not Korean. →It sparked outrage in China. Asiana accused the 777 of possible design fault. →Groundless. Asiana accused San Francisco International Airport of structural defect. →DITTO Asiana accused SFO flight controllers of negligence of duties. →DITTO Korean authorities sent a protest letter to the NTSB. →They insisted they demanded fairness in the letter. But they are just disturbing NTSB’s works. More than 80 passengers will sue Boeing not Asiana. →I suspect the Korean government is behind the scenes to circumvent legalities. A series of accusations clearly shows how Koreans are irresponsible, selfish and buck passer. All of these are nothing new to Japan. Same logic to Japan-South Korea relations. Japan has been suffering from their manipulation of past for many decades. While Asiana and South Korean authorities are supposed to fully cooperate with the U.S. counterpart to conduct investigation, the airlines and their government are working closely to divert public attention from true cause of the accident. What they are doing is disturbance and cop-out. They put their failure on the shelf and pin the responsibility on the others. We Japanese knew this way well. South Korean hides their brutal act in Vietnam during the Vietnam War and accuses Japan of their past behaviors which the South made up to demand compensations illegally. Did Asiana and South Korea forget the carrier killed three school girls and there are still so many injured at hospitals? They are always bad loser. I will avoid any Korean carries at any cost.
