Two weeks. Its been two weeks since the Funale ended. Two weeks since she lost someone so precious to her, even before they could be actual friends. Shes been visiting the grave by day, and crying herself to sleep by night. How can she be over it, when it all barely started? She wasnt okay. She was far from okay. Shed have nightmares almost every night about her last battle with /him/, Shed have flashbacks of that horrid scene where he breathed his last breath. Shed dream about that bittersweet kiss, too. And it was painful. Too painful. She finishes her latest invention. She stares at it for a while then smiles weakly. If it worked or not, there was only one way to find out. She lies down on the seat made of non-ferromagnetic metal. She got used to inventing with materials immune to that DARPA suit. She sighs. Im ready, she tells the contraption. She was a robotics expert, but even this was too high a level for her. But she worked too hard for it to not work. She closes her eyes, as a helmet slides around her head. The machine begins whirring, as several sensors latch on to her head. Memories of the deacon flash on her mind again. All of them. They keep replaying. It was torture. The machine is heating up and Mei-li was suffocating under the helmet. But...just a little more... The memories replay again, but this time, they were fewer. There was no trace of their first meeting, nor their second, nor their third. They replay again. They were fighting for the first time. She lost without a fight. They were fighting again, but this time, they both fell unconscious. They were at the ruins of the battlefield. He kissed her. She kissed back. His body was lifeless now. Kirk took his body away. The memories keep replaying until there was one memory left. She was visiting his grave. .................................. No more memories replayed after that. The sensors unlatch. The helmet slides out. She gets up all wobbly and weak. Needless to say, her invention worked.
