Two well-known Tralee businesses say they’ve seen a noticeable increase in trade, in the 12 months since the Tralee Bypass was officially opened. The road, which will be opened one year on Friday, cost €97m to complete, and takes traffic away from the town centre, by linking up the main routes out of Tralee. Ballygarry House Hotel and Ballyseede Garden Centre are located on what was once the main Tralee/Killarney road, but no longer benefit from passing traffic since the bypass opened last year. However, owners of both businesses say that despite some initial problems, caused by lack of signage, their trade has increased in the past 12 months. Padraig McGillycuddy of Ballygarry House Hotel, says the new road has opened up a new market for his food trade: Bernie Falvey who owns Ballyseede Garden Centre, says the road to her business is now a lot safer:(Radio Kerry)
