Two-wheeler set ablaze, three cars damaged in CCPur IFP LAMKA, July 9: The KSDC general strike/bandh intensified on the second day today in Churachandpur with womenfolk coming out in hundreds to enforce the bandh in CCpur’s Tuibuang areas. A motor bike was set on fire in the morning which was followed by a bonfire upon the road at Family Lane, Bijang. With the chairman of KSDC Ccpur promising of more organized and reasonable volunteers yesterday, the bandh supporters today were more controlled and organized.At least three vehicles were reportedly damaged today by bandh volunteers including one Gypsy and two Alto cars in addition to the motor bike set on fire in the morning. Womenfolk stood vigil and blocked the NH 150 at the Light House Bridge with a banner that read "We Demand Kuki Land. ’’ No one was allowed to pass through the road, the main supply line for CCpur district. At least two Assam Riffles buses with personnel inside heading to their camp at Tuibuang from the unaffected Lamka side were stranded till the bandh was over at 5:00 pm, while a bullet proof vehicle from the other side of the road was blocked by the bandh volunteers who remained resolute in their stand that no vehicle will pass through their domain. Sources have said that further agitation plans will be decided/ initiated during the economic blockade that will start at 5 pm tomorrow.
