Two years ago. Two years ago it was hard to believe that in 2014 I would have probably the biggest rap concert of the year. It was inconceivable. Two years ago, I never imagined that all the big rap artistes in the country would be my friends and come perform at my show, at no cost. Actually two years ago I didnt know any rap artiste, (or any artiste for that matter) Two years ago, I was looking for the way forward after winning the national sprite rap battle the previous year at 17 years of age. Two years ago, I walked into JTs Yego studios and came out with my maiden single, girls from kampala and thanks to Enygma, its remix, with Don Mc. That same year, I convinced Josh Sb to shoot my first video. I had no idea that I would be one of the 4 nominees for beat rap song in Buzz awards against Navio (who won it) and others. I had no idea that I would be put on the front page of New Vision, and that any of my songs would become no. 1 on any of the tv or radio stations. To be fair, 2 years ago Girls From Kampala actually played on BBCs focus on Africa, and the presenter said Look out for this young man from East Africa, it must have been a sign of good things still/ yet to come. Two years ago, I prayed a private prayer to God every night. And while, Im not yet even halfway where Im praying to be, I want to thank everyone for my last 2 years, in the different capacities youve played. And most importantly, thank God for my last 2 years because theyve been memorable.Twakatandika.
