Two years ago just before Hurricane Isaac was to make landfall, I - TopicsExpress

Two years ago just before Hurricane Isaac was to make landfall, I left the anchor desk in New Orleans, because I was twelve months pregnant as she calls it, and headed to Baton Rouge where I quickly met Chief of Staff at Womans Hospital Dr. Terrie Thomas who adopted me as her patient. We knew my first baby would come within days or hours and I had the anxiety of waiting it out with no electricity while staying at a friends house but this doctor I had just met was just a text message away and constantly went above and beyond to make sure I was ok. Labor came shortly after the hurricane hit and thankfully could not have been easier. After the hurricane I started driving to Baton Rouge for my doctor appointments just to see her ...I had a new doctor and a new friend. It warms my heart even more that this past July this doctor- one of the smartest and most beautiful women I know inside and out- partnered with me in the incredible journey of building R+F. And in just her second full month in this business (while working her more-than full time job at the hospital and raising two children) has achieved such an honor among our partners, an honor we know as Level V. She has a genuine interest in helping people and sees whats ahead with R+F. I am truly so blessed to have her as a friend and partner, and it just feels a bit unfair that work is so enjoyable because of people like her. I cant wait to travel the world with you Terrie and I love you!
