Two years ago our lives changed when our three little peanuts were born 10 weeks premature. The pregnancy was very chaotic from start to finish, but the end result was nothing short of a miracle...or three, tiny miracles!! Jaxson was born 2lbs. 12oz., Charlie was 2 lbs. 2 oz., and Ella was 2lbs. 5oz. You really dont know what true love is until youre looking into two wondrous eyes of something so small, so beautiful, so pure...or in our case, six wondrous eyes! We knew that the complicated birth was just the beginning of the many ups and downs for preemie children. For weeks in the NICU, it felt like they were each taking two steps forward and one step back. With a success and new milestone reached, we ran into another road block. Ultimately, one day before their actual due date, Charlie was finally able to leave the NICU and we had our family of five at home for the first time! Then I had the feeling of Now what? Wheres the manual on how to manage three five pound babies at home? Of course, I still have those feelings of uncertainty today, doesnt every parent? Two years later, the munchkins are flourishing beyond expectations. We are truly blessed! Each day is a gift; we discovered that every early on. We often remind ourselves of the struggles and defeated moments we felt during the roller coaster of the first few months of their lives. We do this to immerse ourselves with feelings of triumph, gratitude, and love that we felt then and continue to feel each moment we look into those six wondrous eyes!
