Two years ago today our EP leaving came out, which essentially marks our second year as a band. Im not sure whether I should go the long and sentimental route or short and sweet, but Ill try to find a nice middle ground. Going into recording this ep, at least three of us thought it would be the last time we would record music. After 2 and a half years of a couple bands that never got serious this was a last effort in my mind. Not to say that the ep blew up, but after hearing the ep and getting a lot of enthusiastic responses, I thought it might be cool to give being in a band an actual shot, as opposed to recording a demo and playing 3 shows a year. So we played a lot, and we got to tour a whole bunch of times and we made so many friends, this became something we HAD to do. Over time our personal relationships became strained due to a few mishaps that were out of our control. We became complacent, and songwriting became a long and arduous affair, and getting together became more difficult. A weird tension between us got stronger and stronger and the enthusiasm started to fizzle. Money became an issue(rehearsal rent, van payments, recording expenses, shipping vinyl, tour etc.) and some of our hearts werent really in it anymore. But this ep will always remind me of the good times, and we look forward to the new memories we will make with our new band mates. So to everyone that has downloaded, bought, or even put our songs on mix CDs they made for their friends/significant others, we appreciate all of you. Thanks for the support and we cant wait for you to hear the full length, its pretty emo. :)
