Two years ago today, while I was getting dressed for church, I had no idea how my life, the lives of my friends, family and neighbors would be changed in a split second. Does anybody ever plan or expect a tragedy? My heart still breaks and grieves for Jeff and Courteneys families. Was this Gods plan? I have ask myself that question a million times. No, I dont think so. I believe we live in a world fraught with evil, people who allow evil and its selfish desires to consume them and in the process destroy innocent people. Gods plan was to surround us with His love and He has done so. He carried home two of His people and they are now enjoying what He promised when they accepted Him. Do I think their lives were cut short? Yes, because I miss them and cant stand to see the emptiness and sadness in their families lives. But I believe those who survived, who carry the scars physically and on their hearts, have a plan and a purpose. To show light in the darkness, to be examples of what God can do in the face of evil and to be overcomers in spite of the hurdles thrown at them. God sent his Son into a world filled with hate and evil. He suffered, he was betrayed, he wept, he was tempted and he was killed....but He overcame! His disciples and family were heartbroken, scared and abused but they continued the task set before them....to spread His message, His love and His forgiveness. This is my deepest desire and prayer for everyone involved on September 16, 2012, that we will seek Gods plan and continue to be His disciples. Nobody wants to see this kind of pain, nobody chooses this path but I think, we as Christians, can define Gods love by carrying on, fighting the good fight and enduring till the end. Even though that day is a distant memory to most, please pray for those whose hurt today is still as fresh and raw as it was two years ago.
