Two years ago we raised 10 heritage breed (slower growing) Bronze turkeys for the table thinking, if we could raise chickens for meat, why not turkeys, too? OMG the coos, the whistles, the eyeing you by slanting their little heads from side to side, their slow graceful steps and neck s-shaped movement, the excitement over feeding them blueberries... ended up giving them away as pets to farms with kids. Just hope they didnt get mean as they aged which sometimes turkeys do. Sharing thankfulness this holiday with you and yours.
