Two years ago while I was deployed I went through a devastating experience, losing my sweet boy Luke to cancer. But this experience brought me closer to a very amazing lady. Because of Cera Reusser and Chase Away K9 Cancer I received so much love and support which gave me the strength to understand that Luke was a in a better place and he will always be watching over me. I flew an American flag in Afghanistan the day my sweet Luke was put to sleep and it gave me the idea to fly a flag in memory of Chase on the anniversary of her last day physically with us and in honor of the great organization that came to life because of her. Those that know Cera, know that Chases legacy lives on through Rikki, Elsie May, and the newest Chasen Smoke member Olie. In honor of his first year of life I have flown another flag for Cera. The crew that flew the flag over the skies of Afghanistan and the flag itself is pictured below. Thank you again Cera for all that you do for the canine community and for creating such an amazing organization that helps amazing work in canine cancer research be accomplished. I honestly believe that one day we will beat canine cancer and until then I will continue to support in any way that I can. Love ya lady! (sorry this post is a couple of days late, but I am sure you understand…it is the thought that counts.) Happy birthday Olie!
