Type 2 diabetes programme in Ashbourne The HSE’s Department of Health Promotion and Improvement is inviting members of the public who have Type 2 diabetes to attend a free group education programme. The six-week programme, X-PERT, is commencing in the Ashbourne Primary Care Centre, Unit 12 Killegland Walk, Ashbourne on Tuesday 3rd February. The two and half hour weekly sessions will provide participants with information on up-to-date treatment and management of Type 2 diabetes. Participants will also have the opportunity to learn how to manage their diabetes through positive lifestyle changes. The X-PERT programme has proven health benefits for those who attend. The X-PERT programme is being delivered by trained HSE community dietitians nationally. The HSE is continuing to train additional community dieticians to meet an ever-increasing demand.
