Typhoid Fever is regarded as an index of general sanitation in a society. Typhoid Fever must decline in the society as living standards are better & improving & also due to awareness.It is still prevalent in developing world but not noticed in Developed world. Typhoid Fever is a systemic infection caused by a bacteria S.Typhi...Typically there is Continuous or stepladder Fever for 3 to 4 weeks Enteric Fever includes both Typhoid & Paratyphoid. It occurs in all parts of world where water supplies & sanitation are substandard Peak incidence is during July-September during increase in Fly population. The bacteria multiply in water,ice or ice-cream,food,milk Pollution of Drinking water supplies,open air Defecation & Urination,low standards of food & personal hygiene or Health ignorance. Transmission is via Faeco oral,Urine-Oral routes,through wet hands contaminated with faeces or urine or carriers etc. How to control Typhoid.. 1.Control of Source or reservoir of infection is identify,isolate,Treat & disinfect. 2.Control of Sanitation Typhoid is never a problem where there is a clean Domestic water supply 3.Immunization. More ever the socio economic impact of disease is huge because Typhoid survivors may take days to months to recover & resume work. Hope for Disease free society.
