Typhoon Haiyan Relief Im sure by now you have all seen the devastation wrought in the Philippines by Typhoon Haiyan, the strongest storm ever on record to make landfall. More than 10,000 people are feared dead, as wind and water swept over the Philippine central city of Tacloban on the island of Leyte, as well as other areas. Millions have been displaced by the storm and are in desperate need of basic necessities from the international community. If you want to help, the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) opened a mailbox for Federations to support relief efforts by the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC). Donations can be made on either JFNA or JDC websites, or by mail at: Typhoon Haiyan Relief Fund, The Jewish Federations of North America Wall Street Station PO Box 148 New York, NY 10268.
