Typhoon Matmo Alert 麥德姆颱風警報 This Emergency Message is being issued to alert British Nationals currently in Taiwan or planning to travel to Taiwan that the Taiwan Central Weather Bureau are closely monitoring Typhoon Matmo. The typhoon has already struck the eastern coast of Yilan and Hualien and is due to cross Taiwan on 23 July. Several Weather warnings have already been issued by the Taiwan Central Weather Bureau. Heavy rain and strong winds are expected across the entire island. We advice that you continue to be alert and monitor the progression of the typhoon by listening and watching local media coverage and following weather alerts issued by the Central Weather Bureau at cwb.gov.tw/V7e/. Up to date information will be available on International Community Radio Taipei on 100.7 FM in Kaohsiung and Taipei and on 100.1 FM in Taichung and most Taiwanese news channels. In an event of an emergency you are advised to monitor media coverage and follow the instructions issued by your local Taiwanese Government authorities.
