Typhoon Phanfone update! Yokota Air Base and the Kanto Plain are under TCCOR 2. Yokota Air Base will be CLOSED on Monday, 6 October. Sustained 35-knot winds expected to hit Yokota at 0500/6 October.Sustained 50-knot winds expected to hit Yokota at 0800/6 October. 4 to 6 inches of rain expected at Yokota through 6 October. Only Key & Essential Military and Civilians will report to work Monday, 6 October. Unit commanders and the chain of command will call those Military/Civilians who are required to report to work on Monday, 6 October. If unsure about reporting status, Military/Civilians need to call their chain of command for confirmation. The Yokota Installation Commander authorizes administrative leave for APF/LN/NAF (Regular Status) employees from 0001 on 6 October 2014 and continuing through 2400 on 6 October 2014 due to hazardous weather conditions. Employees required to perform mission essential duties will be contacted by their leadership on reporting instructions. Yokota Schools will be closed on Monday, 6 October and will re-open on Tuesday, 7 October. Only Key & Essential mission personnel will be allowed to travel on Yokota roads starting at 0100/6 October. Key & Essential mission personnel may enter Yokota through the Terminal, West, and East Gates starting at 0100/6 October. Yokota Supply gate will be closed on Monday/6 October. Yokota Fussa Gate and the Visitor’s Center will be closed starting at 0100/6 October and will re-open when the “All Clear” is announced. Yokota Urgent Care Clinic will remain open for emergencies only. Yokota Child Development Centers will be closed on 6 October and resume normal operations on 7 October. Yokota Dining Facility (Samurai Café) will be open for meal card holders on 6 October during the following hours: Brunch: 0700-1300 Supper: 1630-1930 Midnight Meal: 2300-0030 The Samurai Café will resume normal operating hours at 0530 on 7 October. All other FSS Facilities will be closed on 6 October and resume normal operating hours on 7 October with the exception of the Kanto Lodgewhich will maintain 24/7 operations with minimal manning. Yokota Chili’s will be closed on 6 October and reopen on 7 October. The Yokota – Narita Airport shuttle will run as advertised and will shut down if the local Japanese Government closes the roads between Yokota and Narita. The Visitors Center will issue passes for personnelarriving on the Narita Shuttle. Yokota AAFES facilities will operate during normal business hours on Sunday, 5 October. Yokota AAFES facilities will be closed on Monday, 6 October: a. Yokota Community Center (Xchange, food court, etc.) b. BXtra c. Express Stations (shopettes) d. Burger King Yokota AAFES facilities will open for normal business hours on Tuesday, 7 October. The Yokota Commissary will operate during normal business hours on Sunday, 5 October. The Commissary will be closed on Monday, 6 October and reopen on Tuesday, 7 October during normal business hours. The base shuttle will stop running at 1800/5 October and resume operations after the “All Clear” is announced. The 374 CES Unit Control Center will be operational through the duration of Typhoon Phanfone. Call DSN 225-7310 to report critical facility damage, storm damage, downed power lines, downed trees, etc. Facility/housing occupants should assess/clean responsible areas after the “ALL CLEAR” is announced.
