Typhoon Phanfone was a strong typhoon (Category 3/4) when it - TopicsExpress

Typhoon Phanfone was a strong typhoon (Category 3/4) when it skirted east of Okinawa Saturday. Three airmen were swept away by strong surf off the Japanese Island. It occurred after the storm pushed through. The end of the video is when the accident occurred at 3:45 PM JST (Sunday) or 2:45 AM EDT. They had sunny conditions with rip currents, heavy surf, and a breezy northwest wind around 15-30 mph. They will continue with the search today, but another typhoon could push into that area by this weekend, which will likely disrupt the search. One of the missing is Joshua Schoenhoff, according to Pastor Andy Cook of Shirley Hills Baptist Church in Warner Robins, who said he spoke to Schoenhoffs family.
