Typical tory stupidity. Lets think about this sensibly for a moment. The local JCP has a space which is finite. You simply do not have enough space to cater for this amount of people daily in a local JCP, the breaches in Health and Safety alone do not bear thinking of. There will be/are not enough JSA staff to help that many people get seen for a workable length of time that will be useful. How can they help someone with a job search or a CV in a minute or two ? They would need to turn an old large factory into a JCP to have enough space to deal with this many people daily and employ far more staff than they currently employ. There will not be enough toilets for the JSA claimants, yet another breach of Health and Safety. Those who live with-in walking distance will be ok, although if they are walking, will the JCP provide them with money for new shoes when they wear out ? Those who have to use public transport will suffer, unless the JCP plans on providing them with a bus pass ? Just how many jobs are left as most employers are taking advantage of the Workfare scheme, a program that supposedly provides a claimant with work experience and instils a strong work ethic ? Very few get a job at the end of it as the employer just takes on another Workfare claimant, after all, not only do they make a huge saving on their Wages and Tax bill but the government also pays the business/company to take them on. Why does the Government pay the business ? Because it makes the unemployment figures look good, only problem is, it also means fewer actual job vacancies for people to actually apply for. This is just another tory disaster in the making, guaranteed to fail, like all the others and cause extra hardship to those already struggling to survive Minimum Wage, Zero hour contract jobs. This will no doubt cost a million or a few to get started, then the JCPs will collapse under the strain of dealing with so many claimants on a daily basis and the opposition will once more just stand there saying I told you so , instead of demanding an early election so they could show how it can all be done sensibly. Its long past time we stopped punishing those on Minimum Wages, the Unemployed, the Disabled and the Elderly. We should be forcing Employers to pay a Living Wage, they can afford to out of the Millions/Billions they make in profits, it is not the countrys job to subsidise the Wages Bill of Big Business. We should be embarking on a major refurbishment of unused buildings to turn them into single person housing. Actually start building the two bedroom homes that are needed by hundreds of families in this country. We should be ensuring that big business is not allowed to use Workfare Serfs to permanently fill job vacancies, it should go back to its beginnings, the part where only Local Authorities/hospitals/old peoples homes and very small businesses with very low profits can employ Workfare Serfs. Between them they can give a claimant Work Experience and help them find a job. Instead of paying the Employer to take on people, pay people on Workfare an extra twenty pounds to help pay for transport to and from work, to help pay for clothes without holes or wear and tear and to help pay for the extra food needed to keep up the calories used whilst working.
