Tēna tātou e te Whanau We are having a ‘Community Planting - TopicsExpress

Tēna tātou e te Whanau We are having a ‘Community Planting Day’ which consists of the Community getting together and planting a riparian strip along sections of the Hōkio Stream out to the Hōkio Beach. We are hoping to plant 500 flax cutting and Horizon’s have kindly supplied us with 50-100 cabbage trees. This is going to be a good chance for us all to get amongst each other and put some mahi into our two taonga. There will be a BBQ, refreshments and lolly scramble provided and a whole load of whakawhanaungatanga. We are asking that everyone bring their own spade and shovels please. Dress to keep warm and dry as we will be going ahead regardless of the weather. If everyone could assemble on the corner of Kemp Street and old Hōkio Road at 9.30am as we are planting in the area behind what used to be the old Hōkio School site on Saturday 27th July. Nau mai everyone this is going to be an enjoyable, successful day with a bit of fun thrown amongst the mahi. For further information please feel free to call me on 06 364 8598 or email me at [email protected]. Ngā Mihi Azriel Greenland
