U-Film Malta present in St Petersburg Malta was present at the annual event in Russia called International Cultural Forum (7-9 December), that gathers representatives of different art spheres from all over the globe. The Forum is a comfortable space for promotion of innovative ideas and projects in the Russian and international cultural context, cultural project launches and demonstration of the artistic achievements. Throughout the Forum, discussions were held on topical issues of development and conservation of culture as well as implementation of state programmes in the area of culture, funds and cultural organizations interested in cooperation with the Government of St. Petersburg and regions of Russia. A number of important cultural projects in St. Petersburg in 2014 were launched. During this event, U-Film had meetings with the major players of the Russian film industry. Following various agreements reached during the forum, new productions are expected to take place in Malta in the coming years. U-Film Malta was represented by Marina Budykho. Ms Budykho spoke of the latest news whereby the European Commission has given the green light to Malta’s cash rebate as part of the financial incentives on the basis of EC Treaty State Aid rules. The scheme aims to use financial based incentives to encourage filmmakers to film in Malta. The 27% cash rebate will remain in force until31 December 2018. This announcement cements the new guidelines issued by the Malta Film Commission dated April 2014 which includes post production and extended rebates to TV series and transmedia. The revised Cultural Test has allocated an additional 2% which productions can benefit from only upon the inclusion of Maltese cultural elements within the storyline. _____ Представители компании U-Film Malta с 7 по 9 декабря представляли Мальту на международном культурном форуме в Санкт-Петербурге, посвященном 250-летию Государственного Эрмитажа.
