U.N. Arms Trade Treaty Takes Effect; U.S. Hasn’t Ratified From Democracy Now... The Senate is the hold-up and in particular, Republicans....the NRA has taken the bizarre stance that this is a bizarre attempt to take guns away from American citizens which of course is absurd. Its an attempt to limit arms sales to terrorist groups, dictators, and so forth....but the importance of the profits for gun makers is apparently far more important than human life.
