U.S. Embassy Representatives attend a Teacher Training Session in Ariana In cooperation with the Tunisian Ministry of Education, the English Language Programs Division at the U.S. Embassy organized a visit to the Regional Teacher Training Center (CREFOC) in Ariana. Cultural Affairs Officer Kate Hall joined 15 secondary school teachers to take part in a training session led by Senior Inspector Hela Nafti Bargaoui. The session, entitled “Integrated Technology in a Learner Centered Classroom” introduced the teachers into a wide range of educational and instructional techniques and approaches focused on connecting what students are taught in school to real-world issues. The interactive training session generated a discussion about ways to maximize the efficiency of the learning experience in the classroom in Tunisia and adapt it to the 21st century classroom. Cultural Affairs Officer Kate Hall gave the teachers an overview about aspects of project-based learning in the U.S. educational system and gave the participating teachers a variety of English language materials that they can use in their classrooms.
