U.S., South Korea, Japan to sign trilateral pact to tackle North Koreas nuclear threats The United States, South Korea and Japan will sign a trilateral pact next week to deal with North Koreas nuclear and missile threats, said Seoul officials. According to Fox News, The U.S. has separate pacts with South Korea and Japan while the two U.S. allies would share intelligence only on North Koreas nuclear and missile programs, via the U.S., said Seouls Defense Ministry. South Korea and Japan almost forged their first-ever intelligence-sharing pact but its signing was scrapped at the last minute due to backlash in South Korea. The pact will allow the three countries to immediately respond to any provocation by North Korea at a time when threats from the country are growing following its third nuclear test in February, according to Seouls Defense Ministrys statement. The formal signing of the pact will take place on Monday, said South Korean defense officials.
