U.S customs people are the worst. Seriously. Worse than Kenyans hinting for a bribe, worse than the big armed Dutch officers confiscating a slingshot, worse than the grim Chinese passport inspectors. We had been up for 40 hours and forgot we had a few apples along to snack on. And the shrimp-flavored chips for Steven. My word. It says here you do not have food, and you have FOOD! with such dour condemning faces youd think we were selling national secrets. But no fine--this time. Happy to be home.
