U.S. economy tipping point - visited with our local banker this - TopicsExpress

U.S. economy tipping point - visited with our local banker this morning and he told me he recently attended a lecture on the U.S Economic picture in which it was stated this November (2014) will mark the tipping point of our economy and the bankruptcy of the U.S. government. I can easily believe this - Congressional spending has been out of control. As Ive mentioned before, that $17 TRILLION debt we have is really more like $80 TRILLION when unfunded expenses are included (we borrow money to pay for social security, medicare, medicaid, plus other expenses). I think its smart to buy silver coins in small denominations and learn to garden and buy/store veggie seeds. If possible, to be off the grid by setting up solar power, ones own water well or pond or at least store some food from one of the online survivor websites. If things never get bad and these preparations arent needed, then great. But the old saying, better safe than sorry could well apply. I simply dont see how the U.S. can come back from the mess we are in, especially when Congress is doing NOTHING to stop this borrowing. Over 50% of the people in this country are employed by one or another government, and employment in the private sector is in trouble (6.? unemployment rate is NOT correct - after a couple of months, the govt. stops counting people who used to be on the rate - this is to keep it low by stating those people have stopped looking for a job and they expect us to believe that? OH PLEASE! Then the inflation rate no longer includes gasoline for transportation and food and I think we all know they are both increasing in prices - you may trust the govt. I no longer do!) The other topic at the lecture apparently was, when the U.S. goes bankrupt, LA, TX, NM, AZ would probably join together and create their own country. An interesting thought! You may not agree with what the lecturer said, but in my opinion it never hurts to take in info from a variety of sources and then decide for oneself what should be acted on.
