U always hear stories in the news about people abusing animals and how quickly various agencies get involved from law enforcement to humaine society to even courts..but my sis n law wendy who truly luvs her animals needed help rescuing her dog and newborn puppies out of a drainage ditch/pipe yesterday not a damn person one would help her..not police fire dept..noone..except my kids dakota and mark then when fb blew up with the news lots of people we never met came rushing to help..the drain pipe was at a slope that was clogged at one end and when the rain started it was going in the pipe and the puppies just a few hrs old could have drown and died..we were worried that momma dog wasnt gonna make it due to heat exhaution and she wouldnt leave her babies to come out and drink..the drain pipe was the culvert of a gas rig driveway and the company refused to allow the culvert be drilled a hole to save the dogs however they were ok with 2 grown men crawling into the small tight pipe risking their lives if getting stuck or passing out from the heat inside..wow wat people will do behind money and thats wat it boiled down to was their expense of drilling the culvert and then repairing it..but in the end after 11hrs of attempts to save the animals the heroic efforts of my son mark and a man we didnt know..momma dog and all her puppies are safe and doin great..i was so afraid for these guys bein approx 25ft deep in this pipe with no air fiow and barely any room to move..mark was in and out all day trying and almost fell out on us then when the other brave young man showed up he chose to go in and relieve mark then when he came out mark went right back in to get the last if the puppies..mark had been in the heat of the pipe so long throughour the day that his last trip in exhausted him..i hit my knees with fear and tears in my eyes and the guys got him pulled out to safety. The young man that helped save the puppies had EMT training and stayed with mark checked him out the best he was able and kept him stable..so to that young man I personally thank u for all u did as well as ur wife and all the others that gave ur time and compassion to help even if it was just ur support being there. I am so proud of these brave 2 young men for their heroic efforts..i know this post was long but I fealt it needed to be told not only to thank those that helped but to show there are still good folks out there willing to help others even if its someone they never met..always remember..you never know a stranger its just a friend you havent met yet..
