U11s Division 2A St Cormachs 2 - 1 Gorey Celtic A, A week day game to end the season and we just lost out.It was a fantastic game of football with spirit,passion and most of all skill played be every single Celtic cub.I can honestly say not one boy came of that field not having giving his all.Cormachs grabbed an early lead after some fantastic defending from Danny Roache,Finn and Adian Mulcahy.We had Lucas Brannigan in goals who is a very talented keeper and he made some super stops.Never afraid to get down at players feet. then in midfield we had the ever working Kyle Kenny and our captain for the year David Smyth who both worked up and down the field all game.We had Corey Browne who works hard and showed some amazing skills taking on players.Then on the left side we had the amazing dynamo who is Brendan Tobin who i think we will see a lot more from in the years to come. The lone striker been Damon Mac Gannon who works all the time under lots of pressure.In the second half we brought on two more talented young boys in Eoighn Cooke and Ryan Finn.We got a deserved well worked goal trough movement and passing which i have not seen from many other teams at this age.Every team we played used the same old routine in Long balls and no football,but we asked the boys to trust us and play simple football and they have.We cant wait to get them on a pitch with more space next season!!!!!Cormachs hit a long ball and it pops over our keeper head in the final 3 minutes to take the spoils.Well done to them and i wish them the best in the league.BRING ON NEXT SEASON! well done parents and club members and most all the CHILDREN.
