UAB fans talk all big and bad about how we beat up Baylor and TCU in 2004. Some may say way to go... Where are you now? Those same people are probably the ones rolling their eyes when people say that the BOT was behind the attack on UAB. Lets add another layer... In 2004, when UAB was ranked 24th in the very first BCS poll ever, where was Alabama? Not ahead of UAB. People, even myself, ask why would the BOT be afraid of UAB. Maybe its because the fear of UAB being better at football than the Tuscaloosa campus wasnt just a fear at one point... but a reality. Some can point to the 2004 season as the beginning of the acceleration of their plans to destroy football and take down the undergraduate life of UAB. Many will say that once UAB showed signs of life despite the blocking of investment in football the BOT decided now was the time to cut it. A year too late Im afraid. Because we are now united for the first time in our young history. Because now we have all the leads we need. #FreeUAB Go Blazers.
