UG considers higher fees, increased pay for lectures Vice-Chancellor of the University of Guyana Jacob Opadeyi says there are discussions to have tuition fees increased by five percent to counter inflation. The Vice Chancellor also said the institution recognizes the challenges it faces in attracting lecturers and as such is hoping to increase its compensation package. Prime Minister Samuel Hinds who also on hand said he was not in favour of a package, but said the increased salary should be a fair distribution of what could be afforded.
