UGH! SOOO much frustration. Ive got to be careful what I put here because this is still not over :( They had a fast talking lawyer that went back 6+ years into my past (LONG before I even moved here!) trying to dig up dirt on me from where I used to live. He told half-truths about situations-- i.e. in my old house, we had a Home Owners Association and they tried to say a couple of times that I had violated this or that, but I WON each and every time- but of course he did not put that the HOA was wrong and I was successful, no, instead he tried to show that there was a PATTERN where I tried to be slick with local regulation :/ He also cited an IN TOWN ZONED RESIDENTIAL case that the board had denied for a kennel saying that theirs was denied bc they have neighbors, so mine should be denied bc I have neighbors!! And of course they had neighbor recordings of dogs barking- no video, so who knows whose dogs were actually barking not to mention that the recordings were supposedly taken from inside someones home even though you can hear birds chirping LOUDLY in the foreground and faint dogs barking in the background... And the only video of my dogs they had was the one where the neighbor sent her little girl out with a stick to taunt my dogs!! As I sat and listened to their lawyer a man who surely took their money, it was clear that he had NO LEGAL GROUND!! He talked a lot of fluff, but did not cite any real facts, any actual cases similar to ours, no experts or expert information/reports, etc. On the one hand, it gave me confidence that we have actual facts and experts and he has cheesy recordings and hearsay, but the frustrating part is that JUST AS MUCH WEIGHT will be given to his fluff as our facts :/ Because this meeting does not have the same obligations as an actual court hearing where everything must be authenticated, the board gave the same weight to their we hear dogs barking as it did to our expensive sound experts :( The ruling got continued to the meeting for next month so that the board could review all the information. I hope and pray that the board really does review ALL the ACTUAL FACTS that we presented :( Feeling very frustrated right now :( God Bless America.
