UHS result is here (merit list on 30th october) and you all probably know your NET scores by now (merit list 20-21 september) and you probably have a good idea by now if you will be able to get in or not so for the lucky few who cant decide which college to go to heres a post containing Pros and Cons government medical colleges vs army medical college Government medical colleges PROs: Low fee, good quality education (after all medicine is medicine) a comparatively relaxed study atmosphere and youll be studying with some of the most intelligent minds in the country. Frankly if you do get in consider yourself lucky CONs: Similar to studying in a government school youll find the facilities slightly lacking and well it isnt as neat and clean and pretty to tell you the truth, but most people are there to study so generally the outdated classrooms and 70s era benches are ignored in favour of the quality education given out at such low fees... Also the study schedule isnt always on time classes delayed, exams delayed that kind of thing so the five yr degree is often stretched out to 6 yrs Army medical college PROs: The facilities and classes are more organized and neater, the system of study is modular (only other colleges to have this system are AKU and Shifa) which doesnt make much difference in the long run but it definitely helps in studying.Als.o for those who of you who are interested in this kind of thing.. the glory of being from an army establishment :P I mean with the amount of grooming they do to cadets theres definitely a lot of character development in army institutions. Also there arent any delays or political influences in army, the system is well established and if its a 5 yr degree then it will be completed in exactly 5 yrs CONs: the reason why most people prefer gov colleges rather than AMC is the fact that it has a more stricter atmospher.Uniform, morning parades, battalion fall ins and you will be kept in check at all times. Though for those of you think you can deal with this stuff, AMC is a good choice. :) An army career has more stability while a civil career has its ups and downs but there are less restrictions in that kind of atmosphere so those who have the determination to succeed can flourish anywhere :) Goodluck everyone! (P.S: if you think Ive missed out any pros or cons or if you have any queries related to admission or studies of medical colleges.. plz mention in comments)
