UK Circus Days is Britains largest Circus fan facebook group with over 600 members and we are delighted with the review written of our Five star show today by Steve Jacks. Come and see us we know you will agree with his comments. The show began with a bit of a warm up from one of my favourite clowns Emilion Delbosq, who this year has taken on the role of a nerdy geek character in glasses, trouser braces and constant fascination with taking photographs. He starts by causing havoc for a poor ring boy who is trying to clean the ring before they make friends and end up doing a choreographed dance routine together and the ring boy (actually juggler Billy Heron) allows Emilion to introduce ringmaster Norman Barrett. The first official act is the amazing Tropicana Troupe – a lively teeterboard acrobatic troupe using springboards to jump onto chairs and each other to many gasps of delight from the audience. It is then time for some aerial acts with Odka and Stephanie performing on separate silks hanging from the top of the tent in perfect synchronisation. This leads straight into Italian hunk Salvatore on the cloud swing, a piece of rope used like a trapeze with many trick falls and balancing techniques. Then it is time for the beautiful Summer who presents her high school horse riding act which is very impressive. Emilion returns for the well known pretend car driving routine featuring two chairs in the ring and the assistance of a female audience member. One of the best of these types of routines I have seen. Ringmaster Norman Barrett returns with his famous budgie act. It still gets the same fantastic audience reaction every year and both trainer and the budgies themselves clearly have talent. There are lots of new tricks to look out for this year as always. The Rastellis then enter the ring who are billed as “The worlds greatest clowns”. It is easy to see why with their traditional and clever musical routine. The final act of the first half is the mighty Hercules – a strongman who returns from last years show due to demand who pulls a 4x4 vehicle with his teeth and then has it run over him! And that’s just two of the things he does! After the interval The Rastellis return with their comedy juggling act also including members of the audience throwing a football to be caught on the end of a stick. Odka returns with her contortionist act, a very beautiful presentation including managing to get herself into a glass bottle (and thankfully out again!). Summer also returns again, this time with SIX stunning liberty horses that perform a very clever routine with a good choice of music that really impresses the audience. The final act and we are back how we started… with the Tropicana Troupe, all males with one female member, who this time perform a flying trapeze act with a difference. Doing away with the trapeze swing itself and literally throwing each member to each other. A very impressive end to the show before all the cast members return to wave us goodbye. Overall a fantastic two hours spectacular not to be missed and a five star show. See it if it comes to your area.
