The streets have been buzzing with a number of questions about this years competition. Some of the biggest questions are centred on the clash format (namely: Will UK Cup Clash follow the RESET formula?) UK Cup Clash will bring a different theme to the arena this year. In addition to the inclusion of the RESET formula (45 and dub plate mixture), for the first time ever a, COMBINATION round will be added to the clash. This round will be one of the earlier rounds in the event, in which all sounds will be required to play only dub plate combinations. These dubs can feature 2 or more artists, BUT single artist dubs WILL NOT be allowed. Patrons and judges MUST hear at least 2 different artists for selections to be considered a combination. Therefore, if a sound has a combination featuring 2 or more artists and one of the songs in the combination is played prior, a selector/sound CAN NOT just play ONE artist from the combination. To avoid elimination, it would be convened that the sound simply does not play the dub combo in question. The dub combination round will be a serious one. It will force sounds to be creative and think outside the box. Some sounds will get lost in this round. It will be a true test of who has dubs and who doesnt. Also, the combination round will give selectors a chance to explore their dub box instead of playing the same shit every day. The fans will love it because of the surprise element it orders. The reason why the combination round will take place in the earlier segment of the clash, (round 2, 3, or 4) is to make sure that most of this years contenders are included in this exclusive challenge. The longer it takes to get to the combination round -- the less sounds that will be able to participate, since normally sounds are eliminated after each round. For those who make the UK CUP 2014 line up, it wont be a easy win. Anthems may be killed by 45s and some selectors will fall victim to breaking the NO PLAYBACK rule in the combination round. The victory will go to the sound team that is truly the best well rounded. A sound that has more dubs than talent WONT have a chance!!!!!
