UKIPS RICH BACKERS THE British media, the BBC in particular, - TopicsExpress

UKIPS RICH BACKERS THE British media, the BBC in particular, has led an unprecedented campaign with the object of projecting one political party to the forefront of British politics. At the 2010 General Election UKIP received only 3.1 percent of the total vote. Two years later, in the Rotherham parliamentary by-election UKIP came second with 21.7 percent of the vote. Now as we approach the 2015 General Election UKIP has become a major player in British politics. Its rise to such lofty heights has not happened by accident. In the past 12 months in particular the media in Britain has run an establishment campaign to shift British politics to the right faced with a deepening economic crisis and a post election drive for further and deeper austerity measures. Voices of even the mild left are eliminated, even Ed Miliband is too far to the left for the right-wing opinion manipulators. We all have duty to use social media such as Striking Back to make sure that a left anti-austerity agenda is heard and spread because at Striking Back we believe that Britain can longer afford the rich. They are too expensive to carry and we no longer owe them a lavish living. UKIP BACKERS To know where a political party is really coming from, and which class in society it supports, the best indication is where it gets its funding and the individuals that provide it. So, apart from the media’s support for this ultra right-wing party who are its other backers? One thing is for sure, the types who back them are in no way the friends of working-class people but represent the very worst of our enemies. One of Ukip’s main sponsors is multi-millionaire businessman Paul Sykes who is said to be worth in the region of £400 million. He spent £1.5 million funding Ukip’s recent poster campaign. Once a considerable donor to the Tories he obviously found them too left-wing for his liking. Stuart Wheeler, Eton-educated businessman donated £5 million to the Tories for the 2001 General Election campaign before deserting them for Ukip and spending large amounts to promote the party. Julian Blackwell, owner of Blackwells publishing group is another millionaire donor to this ultra right-wing cause. Sir John Craven, 73, former chairman of mining group Lonmin, is another person whose opened up his chequebook for the party donating thousands of pounds. He is a former director of Reuters and is a director for a string of other companies such as Deutsche Bank. He founded Phoenix Securities. Scrolling on through Ukips accounts, another Old Etonian emerges as a fan of Ukip, and thats James Donald Charteris, or Lord Neidpath, as he is known, a former close friend of the late Queen Mother who was well known for holding extreme right-wing views and her admiration of Adolf Hitler. Viscount Michael Cowdray - a British heir and film producer and member of the Pearson publishing family reported to be the 12th richest British aristocrat, according to a Sunday Times rich list, and the 10th largest landowner in the UK. Lady Yvonne Vinson, wife of Nigel Vinson, or Baron Vinson, the British businessman and inventor. A former deputy chairman of the Confederation of British Industry, he is a co-founder of the Centre for Policy Studies, and a regular attendee at the sleepy House of Lords. On 4 August last year, he threatened to defect to Ukip unless the Tories took a harder line against Europe. Lady Yvonne Colin, who was listed as a Vice President on last years annual report for Age UK Northumberland, has donated considerable sums of money to Ukip. There are other named and noted Ukip donors - such as the former city insurance broker, Lord Pearson of Rannoch. We can only halt the ultra-right by Striking Back together and building a force of the left. Source used: channel4/news/the-publishers-and-lords-bankrolling-ukip-factcheck
