UKTI will present The Green Room - a showcase of eco-sustainable furniture and furnishings made by British companies and designers are presented. The Green Room is a totally new project created and organised by the UKTI Milan team to promote sustainable design and furniture. Sustainability in furniture and lighting design is important to the British Government and to UK industry as it goes to the heart of the Green Growth message – that there are opportunities and competitive advantage for businesses from being environmentally responsible. Among the brands chosen for this special set-up: Ercol, Donna Wilson, Sebastian Cox, James Smith Design, John Alfredo Harris, Kukka, Made in Ratio, Niche London, Seven Gauge Studio, Tom Raffield, Zuzunaga. Recycling, up-cycling, zero waste, local crafts, hand-made, carbon neutral, energy-saving are among the criteria adopted in choosing the pieces shown in The Green Room.
