ULTRASOUND IMAGING OVERVIEW Ultrasound postgraduate study is available for those working professionally in Medical Imaging departments, and also for other interested professionals who wish to broaden their knowledge base of ultrasound. It is a recognised pathway for Medical Radiation Technologists wishing to attain registration with the MRTB (Medical Radiation Technologists Board – New Zealand) in the Ultrasound Scope of Practice. Students in non-clinical roles may take a number of these courses towards generic programmes in Health Sciences. AREAS OF STUDY Areas include ultrasound technology and its applications; ultrasound imaging appearances; protocol selection and development; and reflection on clinical practice. Courses in this subject area are offered in a flexible learning format (online delivery) with some courses offering a short on-campus component at the School of Medical Sciences, Grafton Campus.
