UNDERSTANDING ISRAELS POSITION The Government accepted the cease fire this morning at 9:00 AM. It remains to be seen if Hamas accepts it. Either way it doesnt matter, because Hamas will declare victory and the Palestinians will celebrate. If Hamas survives, its a victory and they will survive because Israel decided long ago that Hamas is preferable to anything that would come in its place, such as Islamic Jihad or some other radical Muslim group. The more Palestinians killed during the conflict the better, because they started hostilities to bury the failed kidnapping of the three teenage boys. Hamas knows it cannot defeat Israel. So why does it continue to fight? Because the real war theyre waging against Israel is the one being fought in the Worldwide Media. The evil spirit behind Hamas seeks to de-legitimize the Jewish State by exploiting the double standard against Israel through images that project her as a harsh, merciless aggressor. And this is the real reason why Israel accepted the cease fire this morning. In order to regain the moral high ground, the IDF has been put on hold. If Hamas continues hostilities, Israel will have every right to continue defending her citizens from a position justified by her seeking to end the conflict. And if Hamas stops firing rockets into Israel, then the Government here has accomplished its reason for conducting this latest Operation.
