UNDERSTANDING THE POWER IN THE WORD OF GOD PART 4 Acts 17:11 The people of Berea were more open-minded than the people of Thessalonica. They were very willing to receive Gods message, and every day they carefully examined the Scriptures to see if what Paul said was true. Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.... John 17:17 Sanctify them in the truth; your... word is truth... John 16:12-13a I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth. Hebrew 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him. For whoever would come near to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him [out]. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth What is Truth? Truth is the revealed word of God or let me put it in a better way the Truth is what God says. If it is not what God says then it is a lie. Without Faith it is impossible to please God. Faith and Truth are inextricable linked together; I cannot have Faith separate from truth. If you are going to have Faith then Faith must be predicated on Truth, if it is the revealed word of God then it is Truth. If I don’t receive the revealed word of Truth, then I cannot even begin the journey to walking or having Faith. Now this is the challenge and this is where you as a child of God must take responsibility, reading the bible intellectually or listening to a message or reading the message from a messenger will not get you to the Truth because of two reasons; 1) The Minister of God can only illuminate on the scriptures in the Word of God but can never reveal to you the Truth, if the Spirit doesn’t reveal, you will not be able to understand and receive the Truth! 2) In the bible we have the WRITTEN letters but behind the letters are the REVEALED Words of God, for every scripture is breathed out by God, and the breath is the Spirit of God, the bible says in 2 Corinthians 3:6b for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life, so if I read intellectually I will twist the Words, so that instead of rightly dividing the Word, I’m now expertly twisting the Words for my own gain(2 Peter 3:16b There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures). The Holy Spirit is the one who will reveal the Truth and if you do not have a relationship with Him you cannot receive the revealed Truth! Now to the next question what is Faith? Hebrews 11:6 answers the question…. Faith starts when you believe God exist and if He exist then you should obey him (your lifestyle should be different), you can’t say I believe God exist and then go ahead and do things your own way without recourse to his Word, the Word of God should be your guide (Remember that faith is the evidence of things not seen). If I believe in God and what He can do, then his instructions I must obey. You can’t in the name of wisdom be contravening the Word of God because in James 3:17 it says but the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure, the first characteristics of any who works with God is purity…… Faith in God starts by obeying Him and your obedience is first revealed in doing His will, living in accordance to his plan for you, and his first plan, on which all others rise on, is that you must depart from iniquity. If you know the Lord has counted you among those that are his and you nameth his name, then you must depart from iniquity ( 2Timothy 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal; The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.)….…Now this where many have missed it, the Word of God is for your Transformation first, God’s agenda as clearly revealed in Romans 8:29 Because whom he has foreknown, he has also predestinated [TO BE] CONFORMED TO THE IMAGE OF HIS SON, SO THAT HE SHOULD BE [THE] FIRSTBORN AMONG MANY BRETHREN and Jesus Christ said seek first God’s agenda by Faith and all other things shall be added to you also by Faith…the Power of God’s Word is first revealed IN your Life before it is revealed THROUGH your Life. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word, No Logos no Rhema, God told Abraham Genesis 17:1b-2 I am God Almighty; Walk before Me, and be blameless. I will establish My covenant between Me and you, And I will multiply you exceedingly.…but what we have today is believers wanting God to establish the covenant without walking before God and being blameless, they forget the part of believing God exist, jump the diligently seeking Him and want to land at God the rewarder part, they want the manifestation of God’s Power without the living in Holiness, they read the Word of God to preach, teach ,show off superiority of knowledge and not for their own personal transformation, the Pray for Breakthrough but never pray for God to Break them down and remove all that offends Him in their lives, they want to hear Rhema(the voice of God) without studying to show themselves approved(the Logos), they want the Holy Spirit to move in their favor and get them married, get them a new job, house, car, but don’t want the Holy Spirit to move them to be disciplined and take responsibility to pray for personal revival, study the Word of God for transformation, drive them to the wilderness to go through the fire and come out more valuable, as Gold that went through fire to have all impurities burn off,……We conveniently forget that He is first of all the HOLY Spirit, we must understand this Truth, it doesn’t work like that, Holiness must come first, without a relationship with Him, there will be no revealed Truth, no revealed Truth, no Faith, no Faith no pleasing God, no pleasing God no move from God, no move from God, no power from God in our lives…there is power in the Word but there is a path to walk to activate that Power in the Word , I leave you with this admonition to ponder on Galatians 5:25 Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirits leading in every part of our lives… May God open your eyes and drive you to seek a deep relationship with the Holy Spirit….
