UNFORGIVEABLE ERROR OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE Imagine a student with this result: Mathematics C6 Economics C4 Financial Account B3 Commerce C6 Biology B3 Government B2 Literature in English C6 Yoruba Language C5 English Language D7 JAMB Result 236 Post JAMB Accumulation 62 This student chose Banking and Finance as a course of study and to the best of my knowledge, he will not needs English Language as a course whether as a core or elective course in the university apart from GNS. Use of English as a course include minor topics in English Grammar like Parts of Speech, Sentence Types and Forms, Sentence Formation other, Phrases and Clauses and simple topics which one can easily pass. Now, tell me why English Language should be a barrier to this students admission after he had passed related subjects like Economics, Commerce, Mathematics and Financial Account. He did well in both UME and post-UME. Luckily enough for this candidate, he passed Yoruba Language which is a Nigerian language yet admission could not be granted to him all because he got a pass in a foreign language. I wonder when we will be free from the slavery we impose on ourselves. Any Nation That Lost Its Language Will Be In Slavery Forever. Think- Nigeria- Think
