UNIDENTIFIED DSS OFFICIALS MALTREATED ME, NOT IHEDIOHAS DETAILS- OBINNA CHIMA I just got off a long telephone conversation with Obinna Chima, the gentleman whom my friend Gift Okedimma has sullied his name with lies and unpalatable blackmail. I want to assure you that this gentle family man did not tell Gift Okedinma all those lies he wrote in his name. I am grateful to Ugochinyere Vivian who helped me with Obinna Chimas phone number. According to this fine young man who is still in pains, there is nothing to connect this unfortunate incident with Emeka Ihedioha, except that one of those who were attracted to the scene alleged that the men were security attaches of the Deputy Speaker. Obinna Chima was surprised and will be disapointed if it is found out to be true. However, he told me that the men who attacked him were officials of the Department of State Security traveling in two Hilux vans with no government official around them, not to talk of Emeka Ihedioha being in the convoy. Anyone who knows Emeka Ihedioha knows that his official convoy has a fleet of not less than ten cars, and at least one outrider. According to Obinna Chima, one of the Hilux vans is painted in deep blue coloured paint, while the other is cream coloured. Those who know Emeka Ihedioha well, know that there is neither a single cream coloured Hilux van in his convoy nor na deep blue coloured Hilux van in his fleet. There is one black colored Hilux van with a National Assembly plate number. That van was at the airport at the time of that incident. The unfortunate thing is that none of those who witnessed this incident was able to get a picture of any of those hilux vans, or the vehicle numbers. DSS officials are secretive security men and women, they do not wear name badges like their counterparts in the police or military. However, we are aware of what happened in Imo State on Friday; a top aide of Mr. President had the funeral of his father that day, and Mr. President was expected in town, while about seven serving Governors were in attendance. The DSS and other security outfits deployed their men to ensure adequate policing of the State. Wherever these unruly and unprofessional DSS officials came from may never be known, but it is important to encourage the top hierarchy of that service to ensure that such overzealous thugs are weeded out from the service. They are trained to protect us, not to intimidate or oppress us. I am still disappointed that some of my friends and Comrades have relentlessly abused the use of this beautiful information medium. Let us be aware that blackmail is a criminal offense, with stipulated penalties in law. Sarcasm is different from libel, just as propaganda is different from blackmail Whistle blowing is also different from character assassination or deformation . One is right and legal, while the other is wrong and illegal. We must be careful what we write. If you are trying to write like me, you must learn a lot about the usage of words. You dont come here to spread outright lie against certain well placed individuals and expect me to stand by you when the hens come home to roost. I am calling on Gift Okedimma to immediately take down that post filled with lies. Such posts are not just damaging to the persons whose names and offices were unfairly disparaged, it is also hurtful to our collective reputation as activists and bloggers. IMO GA ADI MMA OZO!
