Most of the staff members are refugees themselves, working directly to benefit their communities – as teachers, doctors, nurses or social workers. مسئول المياه والصرف الصحي Water and Sanitation Health (WASH) Officer 1 post Location:Gaza Field Type of Appointment:OD29 (SSA) Deadline for Application:17 December 2014 Vacancy Announcement Number:02-12-2014 Department/Division:Collective Center Management Unit (CCMU) MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES In accordance with established Agency policy and procedures, the incumbent will:- -Manage the Project, implement, monitor and provide proper guidance, technical support and feedback to partners. -Contribute to developing appropriate technical solutions and approaches in order to improve wash conditions in the collective centers. -Ensure compliance with water quality standard through proper guidance, monitoring and applications of water safety plans. -Prepare project cooperation agreements, proposal, log-frames, work plans and budget as required. -Prepare donor’s report, fact sheet, briefing notes, project presentation and other reports as and when necessary. -Work with local government institution/department and other/NGO partners to develop wash projects and to support implementing them. -Contribute to developing training modules and formal/informal orientation/training for partners to improve their capacities for the management of their wash. -Carry out monitoring/ assessment of project implementation progress/process and quality of interventions. -Assist in developing fundraising proposal, concept and work plans. -Perform such other duties as maybe assigned. PERSONAL & PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES -Degree in sanitary, environmental engineering or equivalent and substantial experience in water, sanitation and hygiene promotion. -Knowledge of the international humanitarian WASH standards. -At least five years of relevant professional experience in promoting safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene. -Experience of implementing and monitoring of emergency WASH. Experience on water quality issues, monitoring and water safety plans. -Experience in working with local government agencies, international agencies, NGO’s and private sector is an advantage. -Proficiency in computing, especially word processing, spreadsheets, power points and internet etc. -Prior experience with UNRWA or other UN agencies, NGO’s is an advantage. CONDITIONS OF SERVICE -Basic Salary: Monthly basic salary $1300.00 -Contract Duration: Three months. (Extension of contract is subject to the continuing need for the post and satisfactory services of the selected person) EQUIVALENCY Candidates with an equivalent combination of relevant academic qualifications, professional training and progressive work experience may also be considered.
