UNITED STATES MILITARY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM FOR SERVICE IN THE INTERNATIONAL ANTI-EBOLA CAMPAIGN The 223 Military Intelligence Unit of the US Army National Guard system are on recall for possible deployment in West Africa in connection with the international assistance work to stop the Ebola virus. This contingent is being drawn from the National Guard in several states including the California, Texas and Ohio. The mobilized National Guard members are linguists specializing in communicating to non-native speakers of the English Language None of them will be directly involved in treating Ebola patients. They will work, instead, training healthcare personnel in Ebola and Malaria prevention work as well and help to upgrade general medical preparedness in the countries to which they are assigned. The civilians-turned-soldiers will be assigned to replace US Forces in Liberia and Senegal.
