UNIVERSITY ANIMAL HOSPITAL REACHES OUT TO THE LOCAL AND GLOBAL COMMUNITY University Animal Hospital is not only proud to offer the very best in veterinary medicine but also reaches out to the local and global community. In addition to educational tours for children of all ages, Scout and community groups, classes and school visits, the hospital also sponsors an annual craft sale during the holiday season. Proceeds from the sale go to a local rescue group as well as one in another part of the world. Come to the clinic for your veterinary appointment, take a personal guided tour of the hospital and boarding kennel (Monday and Wednesday mornings between 9 and 11 am}, do some of your holiday shopping and contribute to an animal rescue, ALL IN ONE STOP! The sale begins on Friday, November 28 and goes on throughout the holidays. It is open during hospital hours, Monday through Friday 6:30am-8:30pm, Saturday 8am-8pm, Sunday 8am-4pm This year we bring you the 19th Annual Craft Sale. All proceeds go to Island Dog, a non-profit organization providing and promoting much needed animal welfare in the U.S. Caribbean Islands, Puerto Rico, Culebra and Vieques {islanddog.org), and to Aussie and Friends Rescue (aussiefriendsrescue) another nonprofit group dedicated to education, rehab, and rehoming of displaced, neglected, abandoned and unwanted Australian Shepherds in Arizona. Plants, hand crafted jewelry and pottery created by Eva Vichules and Crystal Baxter plus several other ceramic artists will be for sale during hospital hours, in the evenings and weekends as well as during the day. Some specialty items this year include dog and cat bowls, many varieties of plants in hand crafted containers, reptile and small animal houses as well as animal inspired pieces to put up on your wall or refrigerator.
