UNIVERSITY OF KWAZULU-NATAL SCHOOL OF RELIGION, PHILOSOPHY AND CLASSICS Pietermaritzburg Campus, South Africa THEOLOGY AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME This exciting and interdisciplinary programme envisions the increased capacity of Christian leadership in Africa to reflect on and be engaged in social transformation for the public good. As a programme of choice for African theological scholarship, it seeks to reflect critically on various issues in development discourse and practice from a Christian prophetic theological perspective for the church, academy and society. Our students are engaging such themes as human dignity and human rights, poverty, economic justice, HIV/AIDS, environmental citizenship, food sovereignty, gender justice, climate change and farming methods, work and labour, and other contextually-relevant aspects. Three postgraduate degrees are offered: BTh (Honours), MTh, and PhD. During the past 20 years, nearly 300 students from 30 nations graduated through the Theology and Development Programme. Applications for 2014 need to be submitted by 30 August 2013. Postgraduate information and forms are available at srpc.ukzn.ac.za/Homepage.aspx For more information, see: ukzn.ac.za, or contact the Programme Director: Dr Clint Le Bruyns at [email protected]
