UNM Lobos Rugby Football Club MEDIA RELEASE September 7, 2014 (Albuquerque, NM) - The intrastate rivalry between UNM and New Mexico State University, “The Battle of I-25,” is now on the Lobos’ fall 2014 season schedule! NMSU Chiles RFC and the UNM Lobos RFC have agreed to meet in Albuquerque, NM, October 4, 2014, at 1:00 pm (UNM Johnson Field). Other notable changes to the schedule include the match cancellation between New Mexico Highlands University VATOS RFC (National Small College Rugby Organization, Frontier Division) due to a facilities maintenance scheduling conflict. This game may be rescheduled later in the fall season at Las Vegas, NM. The matches against New Mexico Tech and University of Texas-El Paso have been moved back to their original dates: Both matches are home games for UNM. The Lobos, coming off a top finish in the Santa Fe Fiesta 10’s Tournament over the Labor Day weekend, open USA Rugby D1A play at home against (#15) US Air Force Academy Falcons (aka Zoomies) RFC on September 20, at 1:00pm.
