UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL – One of my favorite sayings is, “Actions speak louder than words”. On so many occasions I’ve heard “words” from others, but their “actions” didn’t match. One of the biggest disappointments has been someone claiming to love you, but act in a manner that doesn’t substantiate that claim at all. Love is an action! Yes, it’s nice to hear the words “I love you”; however, if their actions don’t show it – that’s all it was “words”. “This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth” – 1 John 3:16-18 Let’s be about our Father’s business. Talk is cheap. If we have to convince people that we’re Christians, there is definitely something wrong with that picture. Our lives should exemplify who we are and whose we are without saying a word!
